Reheating Quiche Using the Oven/Toaster Oven
The oven is by far the best option available when it comes to reheating your quiche.
While the oven does take some time to get the quiche heated up properly, it will have it tasting as if it was freshly baked.
Steps:
- Preheat the oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit
- Place the quiche in an oven safe dish or baking sheet.
- Cover edges of quiche with foil to avoid burning crust.
- Let the it reheat for about 20-25 minutes or when the internal temperature is 165 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Check to ensure that it is fully heated up, once done take out, allow to cool and serve
Reheating Quiche Using the Toaster Oven
Reheating using this method is similar to the oven. The only difference between the two is that that the toaster oven is smaller, so it might not be able to hold a whole quiche and the heating time might vary.
Steps:
- Preheat the oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit
- Slice the quiche into servings and place on an oven safe dish or baking sheet.
- The crust of the quiche should be covered with foil so it will not burn.
- Reheat in the toaster oven for 15-30 minutes. (Reheating time will vary based on the toaster brand and its power output).
- Check the quiche at 15 minutes to see if it is heated up properly. If not, let it continue to reheat and check in 5 minute intervals to see if it has reached the desired temperature.
- Once the quiche has an internal temperature of165°F, it is ready.
- Remove from the toaster oven, let it sit for a couple of minutes to cool, then serve.
Reheating Quiche Using the Microwave
The microwave is a quick method that can be used to reheat quiche, but it is not recommended.
Here are a couple reasons why we do not recommend the microwave:
- Because of the flaky crust of the quiche, putting it in the microwave will cause the crust to get soggy, so while it will be hot, it won’t taste the same as if it was reheated in the oven.
- Microwaves and anything egg based is usually not a good combination. The microwave at times turns eggs rubbery and that will often make the quiche have a pretty awful texture.
- The microwave just cannot replicate what an oven does. Since the quiche was originally baked in the oven, it is best it is reheated in one.
If you still want to warm up the quiche in the microwave, then follow these instructions below.
Steps:
- Remove
- Place the quiche on a microwave-safe plate.
- Microwave at medium or low power for around 3 minutes.
- Check to see if it is warmed up to your liking, if not microwave again in 30 second intervals till it is heated.
- Once the internal temperature of the quiche reaches 165°F, it is ready.
- Remove from the microwave, allow to cool and then serve.
